It's been a While..

Hey there Girls....sorry..it's been a while since I have updated my blog...so apologies to those of you who have been in comps...so here goes...

Congrats to the winners and the runners up of the club 4's...

Winners were... Yvonne L., Di,

Alison and Di....well done girls...gee it was greta game to watch and so close....23 19 I think the score was....well done to the runners up too... Betty, Clairer , Elaine and Helen F.....as I said...a great game to watch!!!

Now...don't quote me, I don't know all the details, but Congrats to Helen F for competing over at St Johns Park last week. It was the playoff for the State Singles Title. Alot of supporters went to watch went to watch and Helen played well...

Also, the beginning of this week, some of our girls competed in a rep team...Michelle, Joy, Helen and Robin Cox....representing the C group...they all played well, but C group went down to D group...Well done girls...

Congrats to Di P too, who played in the Champion of Champions a few weeks ago....Well done!!!

Charity Update

Here is the latest in the charity day...the grand total raised was a whopping $2000...well done to all that were involved...It was an awesome day...

Also, not sure how Di has gone...will have to let you all know as soon as I find out....

Don't forget, the club 4's start next tuesday...yesterday was closing date for entries...I wish all of you lots of fun and luck next week...

Raging Success

Well...what can I say but what a great day. Our charity day was held on tuesday and fun was had by all. From the fabulously stocked stalls, to the great raffle prizes and the great morning tea and awesome company. We had gorgeous visitors from Richmond, Springwood and Windsor. Thanks to those girls for coming to out club and helping us to raise money for the nurses visiting Bangladesh to help in the operations of the little children with face deformities.

THE WORD IS SPREADING

Go girls...we now have 6 followers and it looks like more and more of you are looking at this blog...that's awesome news!!!! If any of you think of anything thing that needs to be said on this blog, just let me know on a Tuesdays.....

CHARITY DAY....is coming up on tuesday.....I can't wait for it...I have a plan to make some mars bar slice, I've bought the little bags and even bought the co-ordinating ribbon to tie it...now I need a bit of time to get them made....looks like I'll be up very, very early Tuesday morning cooking....hope they work out!!!lol...hope to see plenty more ladies making some yummies to eat, and crafty things that we can add to the stall...if not, bring your money....It's for a lovely cause....helping nurses to help kids who need face reconstructions....

A big thanks to Michelle for the beautiful teddy and cushion she made....she's a clever girl!!!thanks to Deb too who I believe is doing basket up, and I think Robby is doing a fruit and veg basket...I saw Joy carrying some bottles of wine around as well...Shirley has shown me some very cute little mascot dollies she made...with all the regular contributions that you all do...It's going to be an awesome day....

Minor Singles results...

Well...after the rain on Tuesday the minor singles final was held today. It was a glorious day and we were certainly glad the sun was out...with sunblock donned the match began. It was a very close match with Carol in the lead, then Mandy, and so this continued. In the end Mandy was the winner of the finals...31 to 22. Thanks Carol for a great game. Thanks to Robin C who was the marker and Barb S. who was the umpire for the day. Thanks to all those that were supporting us both too.

Coming up shortly are the State Singles. Helen Fitzgerald will be participating in this event. The dates are 11th and 12th September. The games will be held at St Johns Park. I will remind you all again in a later post.

Coming up 24th to 28th August will be the Champion of Champions. Di Pittaway will be participating in this event. It will be held at Oak Flats.

We all wish you the best of luck in these events girls...and we are all very proud of you for your achievements.

Yippee!!!!!!

Hi there everyone...no real goss for the Penrith girls as yet...I will once I get the photos from the photographers that went up the coast with the Number 2 Pennant players, but.....we now have 4 followers....Welcome to Pauline and Michelle...along with Yvonne M.....yippee!!!lets see if we can make it 10 followers by the end of next week...And again, if anyone needs any help in regards to the blog, please feel free to come and ask me...I'll be only too happy to help you.....

Just A Quick One

Well...just a little post today to give you the results of the minor singles games today. Carol won her match against Kath...I heard it was a very good match to watch. Mandy won her match against Claire...a very close one indeed...Goodluck to you Carol, and me...lol... for next Tuesdays final.

Welcome Back Home

Welcome home to the Number 2 Pennant Players...I have heard of many wonderful stories of friendship and fun that was had on the adventure up the coast to Coffs Harbour....and hopefully soon I will be a ble to share some photos with you all.

Here is a quote from Robin..."the No.2 Pennants teams are great ambassadors for Penrith and Nepean District and great friendships were made and renewed"...

Here is hoping for a speedy recovery for you Helen.....hopefully your arm will be mended very soon and you are not in too much pain.

Once agian girls...a HUGE congratulations to you all for representing us so wonderfully....its a huge achievement to have reached the State Finals, but the fact that you came 3rd is just icing on the cake...

Little Update

Well...today saw the Coffs Girls watching the finals and I am sure contemplating being there themselves next year....I said it yesterday...and I'll say it again today...we are all so very proud of you....



Today also saw round two games of the Minor Singles...Claire won against Mary today, and well done to Mary for giving it a go, your first year...you did very well!!!! Kath won against Marion T...a good game to watch I heard!!!! Carol had already played her game against Brenda and won....And Lyn went down today against Mandy....I had a lovely game with you!!!Thanks...:)Well done to all the winners today...



So...on the board it says..."TO BE ADVISED"...but I am thinking these two games....Carol verses Kath and Claire verses Mandy....will be on Tuesday...Good luck to you all...

Well Done To Our Girls

Well...today the Number 2 Pennant Players won their games...27 to 11 and 20 to 18. That was a truly tremendous result. Girls, we are all so proud of you...you came 3rd in the State Finals, a FANTASTIC result... relax and and enjoy watching the final and have a very safe journey home. Stay tuned for the photos and maybe even a story or two!!!

COFFS DAY 2

Well...I have heard through the grapevine that the Number 2 Pennants Team tied their first match today and sadly lost the second.....This is yet to be confirmed from one of the team members...I am sure the girls played their hearts out today...and we send all our positive and good thoughts to you for your matches tomorrow....

Game one of the minor singles were held today...and to be honest I only know how the ladies went that attended the games today. The next round will be held on Thursday...so good luck to all the ladies playing their games on Thursday...

Off To Coffs Harbour

How lucky was I this morning...I happened to be driving past the bowling club and who should I see but one of the fabulous Number 2 Pennants teams loading up their car and getting ready for their big trip up the coast to Coffs. After hugs and farewells were given...and a woop woop, a honk of the horn and they were off...I almost got a bit teary because two of the team are my beautiful sisters...Michelle and Kerry. And with them on the exciting journey was Deb and Robin. Theses ladies make up one of the teams. The other team consists of Carol. Helen R., Hilda and Vicki...With the Reserves being Joy and Louise....

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL IN THE NUMBER 2 STATE PENNANT PLAYOFFS

Many supporters are going up to Coffs throughout various times of the competition, which shows the wonderful comradery that exists at our club...Many of us wish we could be there, but will certainly be there in spirit.

These girls will certainly do us all proud and I will keep this site updated with whats happening up there...and hopefully lots of wonderful photos to show you all on their return....

First Post and Beryl Clough Memorial Day

Well...how exciting is this...a blog for the women of Penrith Bowling Club. I will post as often as needed and inform you all of the action happening and the wonderful achievements of so many of the girls....I won't make it a long post because I have a few photos to show you of the Beryl Clough Memorial Day yesterday. A fun day was had by all and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.
